30s Vintage Rayon Knit Sky Blue Keyhole Bodice Nightgown
A rare and exquisite example of late 30s early 1940s sleepwear, this stunning rayon knit gown is truly a rare find. The fabric itself is the main attraction, meant to slink through the boudoir, slide across the sheets and rise in the morning looking fresh and just as supple as the night before. Weighty rayon knit gown shows both machine and hand construction. The main construction features industrial sewing details, the bodice is all hand inset, with the embroidered overlay composed of linen embroidered silk tulle, featuring a delicate ivory floral pattern with blue corded detail in this Alencon style lace. A silk ribbon ties the bodice at center front through a keyhole loop.
