A mint condition new old stock vintage dressing gown made of pink moire taffeta, with original tag still attached. This fantastic New Look robe has the classic early 50s sloping rounded shoulder, there is no set in sleeve and the bodice is one continuous piece. Ease is built in with a bias cut gusset under the arm of the three quarter length sleeves. This is one of the most feminine silhouettes and a hallmark of the era. The bodice is close fitting with darts at the bust and waist, then flares out to a full skirt with a hemline sweep of 140 inches. Cloth makers tag reads The Towne Shop, Seattle, there is also an original tag stapled to a flap of moire fabric sewn into the sleeve reading Size 1511-10. Self fabric covered belt has three size settings and closes with set in snaps. Velvet bow detail down the front. Bust measures 34, waist is 26, shoulder is 14.5, belt settings are 24 to 27 respectively. This gown has a good bit of length on it and was slightly too long for our 5'4" model. As is it would fit a modern size 4 or 6 of 5'7" perfectly. The hemline could also easily be brought up without changing the overall shape of the garment.
