Vintage Conditions

We use the following classifications to rate our vintage items. Please realize that the older an item is the more likely it is to have minor flaws.

Mint

A vintage item that is in "Mint" condition is flawless. It is as pristine and perfect as the day it was made.

Near Mint

A vintage item in "Near Mint" condition will be as close to mint as possible without being perfect. The item will have only the slightest signs of wear or extremely minor flaws that are undetectable at first look. A minor undetectable flaw is something that will only be seen upon extremely close, detailed inspection and does not detract from the impression or visual impact of the garment.

Excellent

A vintage item in "Excellent" condition shows typical signs of wear due to occasional or moderate use. For instance, typical signs of wear might include such flaws as a pinhole, light abrasion to the surface of the fabric, pics, minor breakage to the lace, or water marks.

Very Good

A vintage item in "Very Good" condition is absolutely wearable but has some noticeable minor flaws. For instance, a typical noticeable minor flaw might be a small stain, foxing, or discoloration, snags, a break in lace larger than a single thread, or a repair to an area of the garment other than on a seam.

Dead Stock or New Old Stock

If the tag is still on the garment, you might see the term New Old Stock, or Dead Stock, used as a descriptive term. Being NOS or Dead Stock doesn’t necessarily make an item Mint! Please read descriptions carefully and ask questions if you’re not certain about something in the listing description. We do not launder items that have original tags attached.
