The benefit of the Edwardian seam is its affordable price, costing only half as much to produce as fully fashioned seamed stockings, but providing all the fashion the stocking aficionado is looking for. Most people would never be able to tell the slight differences between the two, with the only very obvious difference being the omission of the finishing loop, or "keyhole" at the welt.
