This absolutely stunning and unusual vintage 30s nightgown is a rare find. Although originally fashioned as lingerie the black satin and sophisticated styling easily translates to evening wear. Unique design has an off the shoulder black lace ruffle along the neckline reinforced with double spaghetti straps. The bodice is gathered under the bust along the peaked waist and has a keyhole opening at the back to allow ease at the bustline. Bias cut floor length
rayon satin skirt caresses your curves and drapes dramatically over your legs. An exquisite asymmetric black
silk chiffon fishtail ruffle is attached with lace trim to the front of the gown finishing off the style with flamenco glamour. Measures 36 at the bust, 30 waist, up to 50 at the hip, 54 in length down the side seam, fitting a size S/34 as shown. Please note; the bodice opening fits over a narrow shoulder as currently fashioned, however the keyhole opening at the back bodice could easily be altered to have a button closure, allowing the garment to fit up to a size M/36. Original tag reads, "Colleen Lingerie, 34." Garment is in very good wearable condition but has a few minor imperfections; side seams at the bust have been reinforced, there have been some prior alterations to let out the side seams, and there are darning repairs to pinholes in the satin at the back of the skirt. A gorgeous vintage find, these small repairs do not detract from the overall presentation of the garment.
