This vintage 40s peach sheath
slip is a beautiful basic. The simple styling and slinky satin feel of the flesh toned
rayon make it a the perfect solution for light colored frocks requiring an extra layer of coverage. V-neck bodice is trimmed with a sweet ivory rose lace mesh for a feminine touch that won't compromise a smooth fit under tailored dresses. Garment has a cleaver construction wrapping a single bias cut panel all the way around the body to meet in a single seam at the center back of the skirt, hence the name, "Biastrait." By avoiding the side seaming in traditional bias cuts, this ingenious method keeps excess bulk away from the hip, allows fullness at the hem, and creates a perfectly smooth line over your entire silhouette. A small godet inserted at the bottom back adds a bit of extra flare and sweep to the hemline. Style is complete with adjustable spaghetti straps. Original tag reads, "Mary Barron Biastrait, 34." Measures 36 at the bust, 32 waist, hips 42 and 28 in length from underarm to bottom hem, fitting a size S/34 as shown. Garment is in excellent condition with no flaws.
