50s Vintage Vanity Fair Conversation Piece Nightgown

This stunning glamazon night gown is one of Vanity Fair's so called "Conversation Pieces," produced as part of a luxury collection designed for wealthy American women in the 50s with extravagant tastes. The unique cross over bust has lace patterned gold lame cups underneath gathered cups of wispy black mesh. A stunning gold lame trim wraps around the scoop back and under the bust tying in the front with a bow at the center front. Gown is fashioned from pale peach nylon covered with an translucent layer of black tricot creating exquisite shadow effects. Full skirt opens up with wide godets and has a fantastic sweep. Measures 36 at the bust, 28 waist and free hip, 48 in length along the side seam with a sweep of 140, fitting a size S/34. Original gold label reads, "Vanity Fair, 34" The rare style is a collector's item in mint condition, having never been worn and with the original paper tags still attached.
