Michelle and Eric have done a fantastic job of keeping their line both gorgeous and practical. I think I'll be coming back to Dollhouse Bettie for many years to come!
Elsa Schiaparelli was a innovative Italian designer of the 40s whose collaborators included Salvador Dali, Jean Cocteau and Man Ray. This beautiful vintage Schiaparelli half slip is a wonderful example of her whimsical sense of glamour and the perfect undergarment to add volume and shape to fitted, full skirts and party dresses. The drop waist style is fashioned from soft black nylon for a sleek fit over the hips that lends bounce to the hem line. Full skirt is triple layered; the inner slip is constructed of soft sheer nylon chiffon, covered with a sheer copper chiffon that is overlayed with a black mesh lace outer layer. Special details include black floral appliques sewn to the lace layer adding texture and dimension. A corded satin bow at the skirt top is incorporated into the floral pattern, and a scalloped and embroidered bottom hem looks adorable peeking out from underneath your skirt. Elastic waist band is covered with black lace. Original tag reads, "Schiaparelli, New York. Medium." Waist measure 24 unstretched with a maximum of 38, hip to 38-40. Fits a small 26 waist as shown, with generous flexibility for waist sizing, and hip to 40 max. Garment is in excellent condition without flaws, minimal signs of wear.
