30s Vintage Velvet & Sequin Chorus Showgirl Costume

This rare genuine vintage showgirl costume comes to us all the way from 1930s Barcelona! The black velvet halter bodysuit is adorned with red and gold sequins down the deep plunge front, with a nude mesh illusion panel reinforcing the low V neckline. The eye-catching sculptured architectural pouf at the left hip sparkles with stage-worthy glamour and red silk tulle fluff adds a touch of drama. The sequin encrusted illusion lace accent at the opposite hip balances the design. Sequin trim wraps around the low back and the ensemble is complete with matching velvet and sequin gauntlets. Outfit is lined with cream satin, features a built in bra and maintains the original tag reading, "Luna, Moda Teatro, Barcelona." Secures behind the neck with a hook and eye clasps, and down the center back seam with 11 sturdy hook and eye clasps. Costume also has a 22 inch waist belt sewn along the inside that can be worn for additional support. Measures 34-36 along the bust, waist 24, hips 36, 13 along the side seam from underarm to hip, legs stretch up to 24. The most crucial measurement for the garment is the rise which measures 27 from apex of crotch to top of shoulder diagonally crossing the bust. Fits a petite S/34 as shown, 5'-5'3". Not recommended for height above 5"4". Garment is in excellent condition, with minor signs of stage wear and corresponding repairs along the garment's inside.
